[ 줄거리 ]
‘세르게이’(훗날 ‘크레이븐’)는 아버지 ‘니콜라이’를 따라 사냥터에 갔다가 전설의 사자인 ‘자르’에게 물려 죽을 위험에 처한다. 때마침 신비한 능력의 소녀 ‘칼립소’가 가진 물약으로 되살아난 세르게이는 동물적 감각과 초인적인 괴력을 얻게 되지만 그와 동시에 억눌려 있던 분노와 복수심도 함께 깨어나게 된다. 가족에게조차 무자비하고 냉혹한 범죄 조직의 수장인 아버지가 자신을 후계자로 지목하자 세르게이는 집을 나가게 되고 어머니와의 추억이 있는 극동 러시아의 은신처에서 홀로 생활하게 된다.
그로부터 16년 후, ‘크레이븐’은 범죄자를 쫓아 잔인하게 처단하는 악명 높은 전설의 사냥꾼으로 이름을 떨치고, 자신의 생명의 은인이자 변호사가 된 칼립소와 조우하게 된다. 한편 니콜라이에게 복수할 기회를 노리고 있던 또 다른 범죄 조직의 수장 ‘라이노’는 언젠가 자신을 사냥해올 것이 분명한 크레이븐의 정체가 세르게이란 것을 알게 되고 그 집안을 무너뜨리기 위해 그의 이복동생 ‘드미트리’를 납치한다. 니콜라이가 드미트리의 몸값을 거절하자 다시 한번 아버지에게 크게 실망한 크레이븐은 직접 동생을 찾으러 떠나게 되지만 그동안 겪어보지 못한 최악의 위기를 맞이하게 되는데…
