[ SYNOPSIS ]
늘 함께 쿵후 훈련을 해왔던 형을 사고로 잃고 트라우마를 겪고 있는 10대 소년 ‘리 퐁’은 엄마와 함께 뉴욕으로 이주해 새로운 학교에 입학한다. ‘미아’와 친해지면서 낯선 환경에 적응해가던 것도 잠시, 리는 뉴욕 가라테 토너먼트 챔피언이자 미아의 남자 친구였던 ‘코너’와 싸움에 휘말리게 된다. 한편 미아의 아빠 ‘빅터’는 빚을 갚기 위해 상금이 걸린 복싱 대회에 출전하게 되고 리가 그의 훈련을 돕게 되지만 상대의 반칙으로 빅터는 병원 신세를 지게 된다. 리는 빅터와 미아를 돕기 위해 그리고 자신을 지키기 위해 엄마의 반대를 무릅쓰고 가라테 토너먼트에 출전하기로 결심한다. 쿵푸 스승인 ‘한’ 사부와 미야기 가라테의 계승자인 ‘다니엘 라루소’를 만난 리는 두 전설의 지도를 받으며 훈련을 시작하게 되는데…
