[ SYNOPSIS ]
실험실에서 유출된 치명적인 ‘분노 바이러스’에 감염된 자들로 초토화된 영국이 유럽 대륙으로부터 격리된지 28년 후, 일부 생존자들은 고립된 섬 ‘홀리아일랜드’에서 평화로운 공동체 생활을 하고 있다. 이곳에서 태어나 섬 밖을 나가본 적 없는 ‘스파이크’는 12세가 되던 날 아빠 ‘제이미’와 함께 본토 첫 출정에 나선다. 스파이크는 변이된 바이러스로 더욱 충격적으로 진화한 감염자들의 실체를 마주하며 공포에 휩싸이게 되고 좀비떼의 습격을 피해 가까스로 섬에 복귀한다. 한편 엄마 ‘아일라’의 병세가 점점 악화되는 와중에 스파이크는 아빠의 거짓말과 엄마를 사랑하지 않는 모습에 실망한다. 아빠와 크게 다투게 된 스파이크는 엄마의 병을 고치기 위해 미지의 인물인 ‘닥터 켈슨’을 찾아 위험한 본토에 다시 발을 들이게 되는데…
